...COASTAL FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...1 to 2 ft, locally 2 1/2 ft, of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. The highest water levels are likely with the Saturday midday and possibly Sunday midday high tides. * WHERE...Bronx, Northwest Suffolk, Northern Queens and Northern Nassau Counties. * WHEN...During the times of high tide until 6 PM EDT Sunday. * COASTAL IMPACTS...Minor to locally moderate flooding is expected in the most vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Expect 1 to 2 ft, locally 2 1/2 ft, of inundation above ground level in low lying, vulnerable areas. Some roads and low lying property including parking lots, parks, lawns and homes/businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience shallow flooding. * SHOREFRONT/BEACH IMPACTS...Breaking waves of 3 to 6 ft, along with elevated water levels, will result in areas of dune erosion with damage to a few waterfront structures possible. Splashover over seawalls and overwashes where dune structures are compromised may locally exacerbate flooding of roadways and vulnerable structures behind protective dunes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Another round of minor to moderate coastal flooding is possible for the Sunday afternoon high tide cycle. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. && Time of high total tides are approximate to the nearest hour. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. ...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Sustained northeast winds 20 to 25 mph, locally up to 30-35 mph. Wind gusts 40-50 mph, locally up to 55 mph. * WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New York. * WHEN...Until 6 AM EDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strong winds will last for a very long duration, possibly exceeding 24-36 hours. Considering the long duration rain fall and full foliage of trees, impacts may be exacerbated. The highest localized winds are expected to occur on eastern Long Island and southern New London county. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects. &&
